Marmite, Ketchup, Mustard

Marmite - 20cm x 14cm - oil on panel

Ketchup - 20cm x 14cm - oil on panel

Mustard - 20cm x 14cm - oil on panel

This is a set of three paintings which were done recently as a commission. A while back I posted a small (but crude) painting of a Marmite jar, which was one of my first still life posts, so it was good to get the chance to have another go at it and I'm quite happy with result. I think the ketchup turned out pretty interesting too with the translucent effect of the ketchup on the sides of the bottle.

Hi Neil - these are terrific! I am not usually a fan of paintings of groceries, but your handling is so delicate that mere condiments become works of art!

Your still life is nothing but. It is full of life that they are not still at all. They seem to be in motion which is quite wonderful to behold. You are gifted.

Fantastic work Neil, I am the lucky buyer of the postcard portrait.

Mustard, Marmite and Ketchup are exceptional pieces. Please keep us updated of any further still life pictures for sale on your site.

Hi!so realistic! nice art! I started a blog with the purpose of promoting art. The initial motive was to do my own art search but along the way, I met so many magnificent artist who needed to be seen, I found myself creating more and more ways to promote them. It seems to be going fairly well. Would you like to add your blog to the blog promotion directory?? check it out! http://rareartarenalinkexchange.blogspot.com/

I've just had a Marmite and (french) mustard sandwich, and this is the first Google result for Marmite and mustard. Can you imagine a Marmite, mustard, and ketchup sandwich? I don't know what it would taste like - I'm not going to try it - but it would surely drive off mosquitoes.

Hi Neil,
These are great. (Your earlier Marmite jar painting is still keeping me good company here in my studio). Beautiful paint handling. I especially love the mustard. The text is wonderful-- so hard to get things to look like printed text without making them look overly fussy.

Am so glad to see that you have been posting so many paintings. When I looked at your blog this morning it felt like Christmas!

Hi Neil,
I spied these paintings in an exhibition in dudley in the form of limited edition prints - they are so beautiful! Unfortunately out of my price range, i don't suppose you have any single prints for sale? A5 size?!

Hi Sian,
Glad you like my work. Unfortunately I don't have any prints for sale personally, as all sales are handled by my publisher, Demontfort. You can find a link to their site at the top right of my blog, where you can enquire about any new prints which might be coming out - there may be other sizes in the future. Sorry I can't be of more help.
Neil.
